#I'LL MAKE AN EXPLANATION OF THE AU IN ANOTHER POST

I've read all your magical girl au fics in what is probably an unhealthily short amount of time... I am obsessed. I never thought about using primary colors as a basis for a magic system ( I might dip my hands into that concept it's SO GOOD HEBEUWBAIW ) and I have so many questions...

I need to know everything... what power is red/magenta specifically associated with if blue(and cyan?) is associated with nature (??, creation maybe? ) and yellow is associated with time...? is the color that's more effective against another color work on like.. pokemon fire grass water rules ( red beats yellow, yellow beats blue and blue beats red ? ) i have so many questions

OKAY!!!! so basically!!! (Also, SPOILER WARNING for my Fanfiction Dusk Sparks of Life, link for it will be in the replies of the ask)

First off, thank you sososososo much for your ask, it's the first one I've received I believe! =:D!! Exciting!!! And i'm super glad you liked the fanfics!!!

There is a reason for everything!!! (but somethings are spoilers so for now we will use that which is known and maybe in the future i will elaborate!!!)

So, every person has a soul/soulcolour. That colour is somewhat significant to how they are as a person, but within the same colour there is a lot of variety. It's a bit about how you'd react in certain situations, more than what you look like and stuff.

Some people (like Lizzie in this example) have a magenta soul. Through the soul's magic potential or a moment where she proved herself to be a representation of the colour in an honourable way, she was able to unlock the power of the soul and is now a primary magical girl.

Our next example is Scar. His soul is cyan (for now, might change), but the magic potential he has is too low to activate on it's own and since he also doesn't "get" anyone's primary colour, he will not be turning into a magical girl.

Similarly, Pearl has a cyan soul. She too lacks the magic potential to activate her soul magic, but since Lizzie has imbued her with magenta, meaning lending some of her power to Pearl, Pearl becomes a magical girl. However, her soulmagic is influenced with magenta, meaning that she is a secondary magical girl with the colour purple.

Every person has a soul colour, by default they are one of the primary colours of ART meaning magenta, cyan and yellow. Very rarely, people with otherwise coloured souls appear, such as Mumbo. That type of magica(s) (magicalgirlshortcutforwriting) are what most of my stories will be about!!

At the bottom you can see a very crude scheme that shows how the different "rots" (as I believe Cleo calls them?) function in regards to magicas. So for example, in Dust Sparks of Life, the main antagonistic force is the blue version of the rot: Sculk. As we can see in the diagram, it is very strong against Magenta (which is why Lizzie and Mumbo weren't able to fight it super effectively), but it's also rather weak to Yellow (which there was none of in the story). There is another arrow that is pointing from the Cyan into the Cyan, implying that it is strong against itself. That is because a magical girl of the same colour as the rot, will always win because the rot is just that, decay without a brain really. So if we look at the chart we could deduce that a magica that is green (a mix of yellow and cyan) would be the most effective against the Sculk.

There are differences into which colour your soul is and which you get on top (since the one your soul is dictates, well your soul!). That's also why Cleo remarks on the lack of control she has over her yellow side (her soul is cyan) and how Joel is the strongest against the Sculk (his soul is yellow which is the strongest colour against Cyan).

There is a lot more to be said, such as what are the colours tied to, and what kind of powers can you get, but it's 3am and I really wanna do an accompanying drawing to it so Imma shreep and answer that if another ask happens to stumble into my inbox hehe =:D

The Golden Two AU!

When Luz is about 4, while Manny and Camila are taking a nap, she wanders away. She goes into the shack near her house and *gasp!* The portal is there while Eda does Eda things. So Luz goes through the portal.

Cut to Hunter and Belos. Belos is somewhat panicking because, Holy shit, they don't usually pop out this early. I headcanon that Grimwalkers usually pop out at ages 10-12 because like, still an easy age to manipulate, but a lot easier to deal with than someone younger. However, Hunter (always the odd one out) popped out at the ripe old age of 5. Belos doesn't have a single fucking clue on how to deal with small children, so he's just... Sending Hunter out with whatever coven scout pisses him off because apparently this weak ass 5 year old is too small to start training and will be until he's like. At least 8.

So Hunter is out and sees Luz. And he's super excited to see someone around his age, because all the people in the Emperor's Coven are oldddddd. And they're fast friends until Hunter sees Luz's ears and he's like.

Hunter: Woahhhh, youw eaws awe wound!

Luz: Yah

Hunter: Do you wanna meet my uncle? I wanna sow him youw cool eaws

Luz: Oki

So he takes her to Belos who's like. Why is another random child here- Holy shit that's a human!!!! So Belos is then like. Well. Hunter seems to like her. And he'll probably be easier to deal with if he has a friend. And it's not like it's uncommon for me to train the magicless. It might be different because she's a human, but that's all the more reason to keep her! Plus, two Golden Guards? Both of which, now that I think about it, will probably be more obedient if they've had training from a younger age... This will work out well, I think. Probably. Maybe.

So he keeps both of them!

(He tells Luz that she was born from a literal half witch, that she's half human, half witch, (which is why she has no magic and her ears are round) but that her mom died in child birth and her dad followed soon after as an unprotected human in the Boiling Isles. He says that Hunter's family, always so kind, adopted her before being killed by the evil wild magic!)

At first, he's harsher on Hunter, because Come on, Luz is human, not evil like these demons! but because she's younger and understands less, she's more rebellious than Hunter. So the abuse is now on both of them. And anyways, some humans are just evil like those creatures! If she's in the Boiling Isles, it's probably fate anyway! Not trickery like it was with that wretched witch who mind controlled his brother- he's getting off track.

So Luz grows up in the same tiring, abusive, and unhealthy environment as Hunter, but with one change from Hunter's treatment in main canon. Belos realizes that if he punishes one Golden Guard for the others mistakes, it has much more effect on both. Of course, if one does really well, he gives them validation like a loving uncle, even if the other one does badly. And of course he still punishes them individually for minor mistakes! But for worse mistakes? He forces them to watch as he hurts their sibling for their mistakes. (He does still hurt them afterwards, because while most of the time he's faking with not having control over the curse, when he gets really angry, he does actually lose some control.)

This leads Luz and Hunter to both have incredible self hatred, because instead of just thinking that they deserve the punishment they get, they also have to watch someone else suffer for their stupid mistakes. One of the only people they actually care about, no less. So they're even more under Belos' control then Hunter in the actual series with the combined guilt, fear, and concern for their sibling keeping them in line.

Hunter is basically just... Hunter in canon but more compassionate towards Luz. That and being even more brainwashed by Belos, somehow.

Luz is kinda herself in the show? Like, she still copes with humor and all that, but her jokes are a lot darker. She joins Hunter in the PTSD squad. She's terrified of upsetting authority and terrified of failing. She hates herself even more than she does in show, so now she will freak out horribly whenever someone (other than Hunter) is concerned for her because she doesn't deserve this, it's her fault this happened, she's a parasite

WHAT IS THIS AU? HOW DOES IT WORK?

A brief (I'm lying, this is a long post) explanation post for this AU for anyone new <3

As I've mentioned before, this AU is based on the theory that Papyrus is (was) Gaster. I did not create this theory, it has existed for a long time nd I'm also not the first person to do something like this with the concept—I'll touch up on that later.

About the Papyrus is Gaster theory

I've looked up a lot of stuff about it but I don't actually know where it originated. It's not super popular but if you're a Papyrus theorist you might have heard of it before!

It is not a super serious theory, it's more about pointing out the weird connections and similarities between Papyrus and Gaster and giving an explanation to the many weird things about Papyrus and his lack of backstory.

Just to mention some things:

Them both speaking in capital letters, having no asterisks, their weird way of phrasing things, Papyrus being described as forgettable, Papyrus hating hotland, him pretending he doesn't know about a lot of stuff ( The lab for example, he know what a lab is but pretends he doesn't in front of Sans), Gaster being related to hands and Papyrus never taking his gloves off, Papyrus weird connection with phones (his photo-graphic memory for phone calls) and Gaster's weird connection to phones(Fun events related to phones, and getting the garbage noise when using the phone in a darkwolrd), their love for puzzles (The CORE is a giant puzzle), THAT one quote that I still find misterious “beside, it’s rude to talk about people that are listening, right? not everyone is as though as my brother”, Papyrus DOES have Gaster blasters it's pretty much canon even if a lot of people ignore it, Papyrus is very smart—he's knowledgeable on many subjects and knows how to build many things— he's the character with the MOST dialogue in the game yet we don't know a lot of stuff about him OR his past, he breaks the laws of physics and of the game, and he's not yet in deltarune! The heavily Gaster connected game!

That's some of the things I could think about, and look, yeah... I'm probably looking way too much into it and these are all just coincidences! The weird Papyrus things can be related to other stuff! But I still like this theory, not because I think it's real but because I LOVE the possibilities!!!

About how this AU works

This au is basically a

"Pretend this theory is real! How would the Undertale timeline work then?"

We're giving Papyrus his backstory while also making a Gaster-focused story at the same time!

This AU imagines how the Papyrus is Gaster theory situation could play out! (And I'll also add some of my other favorite ut theories as a treat)

Papyrus used to be Wingdings and then Wingdings shattered across time and space, Papyrus and Gaster are different separate people.

Actually I kind of, treat Wingdings before and after the accident as different people also... you change a lot when you become an omnipresent being....Wingdings, Gaster and Papyrus I treat them all as different people.

"How did Gaster become Papyrus?"

He didn't "become" Papyrus just like that. After he shattered, he stopped existing the way he did before, he became a being in another layer of the game! But! physically his body was just there...

This is based on how the Goners and Gaster followers have counterparts that are not, uh, goners. A non-distorted version of them existing separately

Papyrus was just kind an empty shell at first. He still kept parts of Wingdings original personality but his Papyrus personality developed on his own with time!

"How did Gaster shatter across time and space?"

Usually everyone agrees it was because he fell into the CORE

Not here! I don't think the CORE caused his accident, it is a power source not a time and space altering machine. In this story, it was some other thing he was working on....

I've seen some people tell me this is a good idea for an AU and I agree!! I love this idea SO much, but as I said before I didn't create this concept or theory I just love it a lot!!

I really thought there would be more people that used this concept before but I couldn't find much... so I'm just making it myself!

Farmboy Cultivator Wei Wuxian

I can't stop thinking about Wei Wuxian growing up on a farm where he also learns cultvation (from his parents [who are alive!] and from Other random rogue cultivators who stay at their house while passing through the area).

Like, if Wei Changze and Cangse Sanren managed to survive the night hunt that killed them in cannon, realized that if they died their kid was Fucked, and decided to temporarily settle down. They set up a small farm just outside of Yiling, teach themselves (and their son by extension) how to farm, and discover that farming actually makes for an excellent method of physical cultivation.

When Wei Wuxian is at the right age to start learning how to cultivate they obviously teach him all that they know, combining their methods however feels most natural. Also, realizing that, as much as they know individually, there is always more to learn they build a sideroom onto their house and offer it to passing cultivators in exchange for sharing information. They talk about cultivation with Wei Wuxian, sharing tips on how to overcome one obstacle or another or information on different aspects of cultivation, and often times realize that this kid is so fun to talk to. He's always engaging, he asks precise questions, and is so damn knowledgeable.

Anytime Wei Wuxian has a more technical question on why certain things work the way they do, his mom just writes a letter to some well known cultivation scholar to answer it. Of course the only reason they answer (at first!) is because just answering the question is infinitely safer for their pride and more effective in preventing mass property damage than pissing off The Cangse Sanren.

Wei Wuxian ends up with hundreds of journals. Every one crammed full with information he's gathered from different cultivtion methods, explanations of why things work the way they do, and (of course) his own ideas.

It all results in Wei Wuxian developing a cultivation style that belongs everywhere and nowhere all at once. He knows a hundred ways to solve a single problem and uses them to develope his own secret hundred-and-first option.

I definitely have so many more thoughts about this, but those are for another time. Maybe I'll make another post about the Sunshot Campaign, the Jiang Family, and WangXian in this au

WIP Sneak Peak

Just to let you guys know I'm not dead, and hopefully get some engagement going on this account haha. I'll probably try and post something every day, update you all on what's going on, do some side activities idk. Suggestions on what I can do are welcome!

The upcoming fic is about Reader getting transported to the AU in s2ep7 so spoilers in the fic, go watch s2 before reading it!! Was not expecting certain characters to appear in s2, glad they did, even if they were bread crumbs.

One moment you're face to face with the arcane itself, and the next you're staring at a wooden ceiling that's somehow familiar and unfamiliar at the same time. There's something warm next to you and your confused mind registers the weight of something on your chest. Your first instinct is to quickly free yourself, to put some distance between you and the possibly harmful object, so you lash out at it, rolling off the bed. A rather familiar sounding yelp of pain comes from your left, but your disoriented mind can't remember why it sounds so familiar. "Easy there, love," a voice groans. Your breath catches in your throat when the figure the voice belongs to sleepily sits up, rubbing his eye. Silco?

Zaun is lit up, the sun shining down on both cities as Zaunites and Piltovians alike walk past you, chatting away. The streets bustle as hawkers call out their wares and golden light shines upon the Bridge of Progress which is further littered with shops instead of blockades and enforcers. Everywhere you look, buildings stand tall and proud, colour decorates the dirty grey city you knew and your heart shatters. This…is this what could have been? Your vision blurs from the tears pouring down your face as it hits you. This is an alternate reality, there's no other explanation. A reality where Zaun becomes independent, co-existing as equals with Piltover. A reality where Silco and Vander's dream comes true.

You miss this. You miss hugging your lover like it's your last moment in this world, you miss his touch, his warmth. You miss the way he holds you tightly when he's feeling down, the feeling of his forehead pressing against yours, the electricity that crackles in the air when his fingers linger on your hand longer than it needs to as he passes you his cigar. You miss the way he makes your heart race from all the small smiles he sends your way during a meeting with the chem-barons, the way he makes you stifle a laugh when he rolls his eye at their bickering, but most of all the way he holds your hand. Your palms have always slotted into each other's like puzzle pieces, made perfectly for one another.

Ah yes, yet another bill reincarnation au, my favorite apparently XD

basic plot synopsis, Bill goes to therapy and eventually gives in. he's about to graduate to reincarnation and as part of his deal with the theraprism, he gets to write a letter to anyone in the living realm who he likes, as a way to give a final goodbye. so he writes a letter to Ford (naturally, who tf else is he gonna write to). it's a whole sappy letter where he's genuinely remorseful and apologizes, tells him he was never just a tool, that he did love him. bro basically just dumps fucking everything, says goodbye, and signs it off with a heart and a kiss (what a loser). Ford dosent get the letter right away as he's still out at sea, but when he gets back, soos gives him the letter. Ford, initially ready to just throw it out and burn it, as he assumes it's yet another desperate ploy, decides to read it with the family for a good laugh at how "pathetic and desperate " this attempt is gonna be. so he reads it... and is pissed. he tries contacting the theraprism, demanding an explanation, demands to speak with bill. but he's just told "I'm sorry, but the entity previously known as Bill, no longer exists, he graduated from our facilities several earth months ago". Sucks to suck Ford. Ford continues to demand to speak to someone, so he gets to meet with the axolotl, who just tells him a cryptic ass riddle (helpful much?!).

months pass, shit is the same old same old. Until one day, Ford hears an all familiar laughter coming from the gift shop. the second he looks at him, he knows he is, or rather, who he was. too bad, Bill Phoenix has zero memories of who he was in his past life.

I'll maybe make a more in-depth post about Phoenix, but this is all imma share for now >:3c

This is a part of my favorite Au, and I'll explain it in another post later.

I just had a great idea. So what if Stan was at the Stonewall riots and had no idea what was going on, and was just participating because fuck the cops. Based on the Gravity falls timeline, this would probably be a few years after he got kicked out. And then while Ford was asking Stan, Dipper, and Mabel to tell him what happened in the thirty years he was gone, Dipper brings up the Stonewall riots, giving Ford an explanation on how LGBT people have rights now. And Stan is just like. Wait a minute... I was there! Here's how I imagine it going.

Ford: So you said something about people being allowed to marry the same sex now. How did that happen?

Dipper: Oh, well, there were a bunch of protests and riots and stuff in the 1970's and 1980's. But the most famous riot happened in 1969. It was called the Stonewall riot. I guess you wouldn't know that since you were probably busy with college and it did happen on the other side of the country.

Stan: Oh, so that's what that was about.

Dipper and Mabel, simultaneously: What!?

Stan: Yeah, I was there. I thought it was just about people being mad at the police, but that makes a lot more sense.

Mabel: You know what, considering it took you until we got here to realize you were gender fluid, I'm not surprised that you didn't know what was happening.

Stan: Hey, I never got an education on sex and gender.

Dipper: Neither did we.

Stan: You were raised by the internet.

Dipper: that's fair.

Ford: I mean, Stan's right. I didn't realize I was gay until like, a year ago.

Mabel, suspiciously: Didn't you first start going to Bill's therapy visits about a year ago?

Ford: What does that have to do with anything?

Dipper, whispering to Mabel: I think he needs a bit more time to find out about that one.

Why Batcest is a Thing

I was talking with my friend the other day and while she's not a batcest shipper, she asked me why I was. I said that I don't think I take it to the same extremes some other people do, a few things that aren't a personal favorite of mine would be any of the REALLY younger kids with Bruce or say Dick and Damian. It's mostly the age gap that gets to me.

But she asked why I liked JayTim and I had a time explaining it to her and I wanted to bring it here as a sort of explanation, I suppose for people who might not enjoy batcest ships.

first of all, the name. Batcest is... an interesting name. A lot of arguments you'll come across is that they're not actually related, or there are some fanfics out there for aus where one of them (most commonly Tim or Jason) were never apart of the Batfamily in the first place. Of course, there are some where they are! Because, at the end of the day, in Canon they do share a family. But the implication of it being incest can be a real no no for people, even if it's not. Dick wasn't adopted into the family for quiet some time (I think he was adopted around the same time Tim was but I'm not a 100% sure, not to mention he acted as his ward and then aged out of it), Jason was adopted but after his return to life has regularly denied his part in the family (Look at literally any Red Hood Comic, though I do prefer to look at the New 52 Red Hood and The Outlaws for his feelings towards Bruce and the Wayne's in general), Tim was adopted but was later emancipated (in Red Robin), and Damian has a blood relation to Bruce only. Morally, there can be a problem with it but for mow shippers, since this is fiction, the lack of blood relation means there's no problem. Remember! They're not real people. Adoptive relationships, or pseudo familial ones, they don't see these relations as any reason to not ship them! And in later points, I go into why. And if people really had a problem with this pseudo familiar relationships, take for example Tim and Jason who have never once lives under the same roof nor have any legal connection to each other through Bruce, then on principal alone they should have a problem with Cassandra and Stephanie - Cass is adopted by Bruce, yes, but Bruce has also claimed Stephanie as part of the family and includes her in family talks. Does that not make them family members? No. They're friends or girlfriends, depending on how you want to interpret them.

Secondly, the canon relationships that any of the Bats have with their partners. I could go through all of them and explain the nuance of the relationships but I'll simplify for the sake of the post. In Bruce's sake, whether it be Talia or Selina or for the more fanon ones like Clark and Min Khoa (i think that's how you spell that, I'm not sure though!), there's no denying that in Canon these relationships don't pan out. Talia and Bruce have moral problems, even if she was originally a spy and didn't kill, and Selina and Bruce have an entire history of problems. For Dick, himself and Barbara are much of the same. A sweet beginning until something comes in to ruin it and they break up. Take, for example, the newest Nightwing run (on webtoon and not technically canon, i know). Barbara breaks up with Dick because she feels disconnected from him and like he's still preforming for her, but they have no conversation about this prior to it. With Kori, I'm not as knowledgeable about why they broke up, all I know is that they did and it was ugly. Another example is Tim! Himself and Stephanie didn't work out because she couldn't trust him, due to now knowing his identity, and then she faked her death, causing the distrust between them both. These are only a few examples of how relationships work out for Bats and in my personal opinion I think it's because of a ack of understanding for the characters, their love interests I mean. And in fanon, partners for Batfamily members tend to be washed down - Kon acts as an emotional crutch for Tim, Roy has morals he simply does not stand with anymore in Canon in JayRoy fics, Barbara is an anecdote in DickBarbara fics, and Selina is barely featured in Bruce fics. Not to mention the simple lack of wlw fics in the fandom that aren't background.

Due to this, the shipping of Batfamily members together is only natural. The characters share similar morals or in the case of Tim have such complicated morals that in fandom you can pick and choose what to use. They're fleshed out, have a canon relationship with multiple layers to it, and complete each other in many ways. In comparison to some of the fandom favorite ships like SuperBat or BirdFlash, where we only see a two dimensional aspect of their relationship recently, then the shipping of characters like Jason and Tim or Tim and Dick together is a natural conclusion to reach.

And Finally, History and old characteristics. It was mentioned before in another post that I'll try to hunt down for you guys and link in a repost because it will be WORLDS better than what I could write and have much more research thrown into it than this does, but originally there were a lot of implications under their relationships, specifically Bruce and Dick. Wardships programs were used by a lot of gay people when gay marriage was illegal, so were adult adoptions. It was to have a legal connection in whatever way possible. And I think in a really old comic, Dick has a dream where he's living in the manor as an adult still with Bruce. Bruce has a portrait of them together. They eat breakfast together in their pajamas or underwear, and spend all their time together. Batman regularly saves Robin over civilians and for his relationships, sometimes they wouldn't work out simply because of Dick. It worked this way for many Superheroes and their sidekicks in the "golden age" of comics! Batman has always had queer undertones since his creation but adding Robin into the mix just proved this. Like it or not, Bruce and Dick had sexual and romantic implications to their relationship since the character was first introduced in the 40s.

As for Old characteristics, in the New 52 i feel as though some of the characters have been washed down do their base characteristics. They lack depth in a way some characters don't or in a way some do, particularly in fanon. Dick's possessive originally and I see people talking about his anger issues as a child a lot, especially in comparison to Jason's Robin run, but either way - the characters have changed throughout the years. That doesn't mean that people can't cling on to their old relationships or even their old personalities. People are so fond of making Jason insane and crazy and Hella mean when in recent adaptations, he's a normal vigilante for all intents and purposes. He's not even a crime lord anymore, I'm pretty sure he still owns the Iceberg Lounge. That's all to say that the boys used to be a lot closer than they are now, especially Tim and Dick and Dick and Bruce.

The conclusion to my explanation to her is that batcest is much of the same as any other ships - picking and choosing what to take from canon to put two people together into a relationship that you like. It's a work of fiction and while that's important to remember, it doesn't say anything about you in real life! you don't enjoy real life incest if you like JayTim. That's all to say si that there's reasons behind it that some people like and some people don't. She wasn't swayed by my answer but accepted it since she couldn't deny that the Batfamily has been explored on and their relationships together so much more than their relationships with anyone else, canon or fanon.

Drop early chapters of EYED / Dreamlike: This is a Moon-centric x reader fic I've been working on for several months now and I originally planned to start posting it when I finished it or got really close to doing so. I dropped a sneak peek of it here! I find myself currently on a standstill on it's later chapters, which is why it hasn't been finished yet, but otherwise I am reallllly happy with it's messaging and pacing. (Rn I have plotted out 15 chapters but it's looking like it could be longer with how I write oops-)

The first chapters have been pretty polished at this point, so if people are really curious about this one, I don't mind to start posting the chapters up to a certain point. If this wins, I'll post the first 3 chapters for 3 sequential days, then 4 and 5 will come out in the next week, and then the last week I'll post ch. 6 for no particular reason mhmm yup I am not planning anything nefarious-

I'll try to list a few more, off my own vague memory, that aren't in AJ's collection and that maybe are hidden gems? maybe not. (okay, this got long so I'll cut it.) If you're looking for something more specific, lmk and I can dig for that particular Type Of Fic. uh. not that I've read every fic.

Unfold Me by mornmeril - this is a great s5 canon divergence where, when Justin walks away, brian goes "wait. jesus fuck no." it's a very in character brian pov imo, which always impresses me cause I couldn't write it. It's so hard to read Brian so unhappy, but it has a happy ending.

Anything by Techgirl, but especially Creating a Family: a season 1 AU that from the get-go changes things (Lindsay passes away in childbirth so Mel and Brian have to step up). Techgirl is very good at showing, not telling? If that makes sense. They've done a bunch of just-off-canon AUs that are super satisfying.

The Things I Cannot Change by suzvoy - there's a reason this is on the first page of any qaf 'sort by kudos'. it's a canon divergent s1 fic which is basically "what if Justin confronted Brian about his unadressed alcoholism?" And, jeez, in true Taylor fashion, he doesn't shy away from what needs to be done. (That happens very quickly, then the inevitable brian rage happens, then, things get better.) Justin is so perfectly Justin - determined, confident, bitchy. Brian is so perfectly Brian - closed off, afraid, blustery arroagnce. And yet they're good together. Epically long and covers most of the season, including prom and beyond it.

Playing it cool by FrenchMarshmallow - this is another s1 AU where Justin is still Justin, but due to circumstances has gone through a bit more and so has already done a bit of growing up before meeting Brian. Sweet, and very kind to the growth they've both done (and have yet to do).

The True Comeback Kid by Anny (CupcakeGirlA) - this one is pain, so delicious but so good. Happy (or happy to hopeful) ending though. Post s5, Justin cuts off contact with no explanation, and then sees Brian at Christmas and has to explain why. Brian is so good and so loving but so him. The tags tell you what's going on.

Fatherhood by PrettyTheWorld, TrueIllusion - a series about Brian and Justin, living in New York, parenting teenage Gus. their relationship is solid, it's about them being friends and support to Gus, as well as settling into being a blended family successfully. It's quite domestic but not in a way that ever felt to saccharine for them? And Brian is a dad without being.. he doesn't pretend he's a full time parent, he's just. There for gus. I found the dynamic is really great.

Life Goes On by Frayach - So I've read this one once, and never again, because I probably wept for about four days over it, ymmv. It isn't actually that sad, per se; it's probably best described as a hopeful ending? But it describes being in your thirties and letting go of the places and people and jobs and experiences you want to keep in a way that myself, at the time, really could not handle. So I think... it depends on whether you've had a partner leave for life reasons, and then moved yourself, et cetera, as to how badly this hurts. But it's so good. Frayach has a lot of really great fic, all of which I recommend, this one is possibly the one that hurt the most of all qaf fic I've ever read.

Ding-Dong, the Witch is Dead by LadyJane_BBJFE - this one is also hard to read but less sad and more, well. Brian's mom dies. Brian doesn't cope well. But him and Justin are solid, in it. Brian is very, very Himself, not the sweeter, softer version.

Figs and Leaves by rhiannonhero - a sweet short oneshot about Jennifer, Brian and Justin bonding. over drugs. <3

Frozen Sunshine by Thyme [archived by bjfic_archivist] - Thyme, as archived by the bjfic archive, wrote so many canon AUs, that I suggest if you're looking for something different to dig in (search "thyme" in the bjfic archive on ao3). I like this one because it's another s1 AU where Justin is just a bit different before he meets Brian. I've saved up like, a dozen of their fics though, so.

Power Exchange by Minxie - this series is a super interesting take on Brian and Justin's relationship; it basically pins Brian as a Dom, so all of his unwillingness to commit to a typical relationship (and all of Justin's insecurities) are intriguingly no longer relevant as they discuss what being in a D/s relationship involves. Very in character to them. Not super heavy on the explicit D/s iirc, but the negotiations are spot-on. it made me want to write a s1 au where Brian putting a collar on Justin makes their insecurities so much better.

Incomplete by Anwamane_13 - this hit all of my "brian being self sacrificing and a dumbass for other people's good" buttons, my need to watch people wallow in self-loathing and then have the people they love pick them up and forgive them (in a believable way), and just all of that. hurt/comfort, I guess? brian style. Brian disappears on justin and the gang, and Justin goes a bit crazy about it.

Ted's Got Talent by eureka1 - I laughed out loud in this one. post-canon. I love Ted and Blake together, so there's that, plus, Ted playing matchmaker.

okay, mod speaking. So. I know I said I didn't want any drama on this blog.

BUT THE MOMENT I FOUND OUT MY FRIEND WAS STILL GETTING HATE ANNONS , IM GOING FULL ON DETECTIVE MODE!

This post is about @/unhinged-waterlilly, and oooh boy am I going to be getting so much hate for this. But. I am fine with hate asks. Just don't be a coward and don't put annon on. I am a minor, and if you decide to harass me about helping a friend, here we go.

My points against her:

1 she sent, and still sends hate annons (which hurts his mental health)

2 she accused jacks bf (freddy) as being fake

So. I saw a post a while back where "lily" said things about the jack situation, and I thought it was fair. UNTIL I REACHED THE PART WHERE SHE SAID THAT JACK DIDN'T DESERVE ANYTHING HE HAS look, I know that he hurt you with the AU , it hurt me too, but going so far to say that he doesn't deserve anything he has??? That's petty and mean.

Not to mention that he was in a shit mental state at the time he made the AU. Which obviously does not excuse anything, but it atleast explains it.

How about we talk about how Will got to Earth? This concept is a bit confusing, so the text is going to be a bit long, I doubt you'll read it all but I'll post it anyway!!!

First of all, it's important to inform you that Ford, just before this, manipulated Will into a deal where he would take his soul “ok, Moone, how?”

here's a text from my pocket demon (co-creator) with the explanation!

“He couldn't trick him like that, it was too daring. So he was going to trick that angel back. Revenge. He was already obsessed, so that angel, his Muse, would definitely be his now.

He would prove to be smarter than a creature like that. So he came up with a good line, saying that he actually agreed with William (and in a way he did) but that he needed some time to finalize things. In the meantime, Gleeful began studying forbidden rituals on how to manipulate a contract.

Then, on returning to William, he said that he needed a helper who wasn't human. He mentioned whether William had any friends, and lucky for Gleeful, William mentioned his gang. Talks came and went, and the scientist said that he wanted to choose one of the gang members, and William agreed, thus making a contract. But it was never said that there were exceptions.

So it's obvious that the chosen member was William himself. That blue devil posing as a fake angel felt more than foolish for falling for such a low trick.” (And yes, this is inspired by Dipper and Bill's Puppet Opera deal! Yay)

Now that this concept has been explained, let's explain what exactly happens to the Portal in this universe.

Stanford Gleeful has always been very stubborn about the portal, refusing to lift a finger to make it, but he wanted it, he needed it for his great human liberation. Will now in possession of Forrd couldn't complain, not in a way that could hurt Ford, and he insisted that he would do it one way or another in the most perfectionist way he could. That's why the portal took 30 years to make, with various tests that may have affected Gravity Falls, but didn't give away the location of the portal.

Okay, where does Will come into this? Well, it's no mystery to anyone that Ford is obsessed with Will, and having him in his possession without being able to have him completely (physically) made him think. Okay, maybe an interdimensional creature really was useful for building the portal, and having him there too… that would be curious… that was around the beginning of the 90s.

At one of the portal's openings, Ford forced Will to enter by pulling him by the chains, a very unpleasant situation for William. Especially as he had to dress up as the Maid :P

FNF CONNECTED UNIVERSE LINE UP Part 2: The Girlfriends

Yippee, new line up. Didn't have as much trouble on this one either.

Idk how much yapping I'll be doing, since I don't really know how much I have to talk about.

Alternate Universe Girlfriends

So just like with the Boyfriends, all these Girlfriends are technically all the same person, just from different universes. So I tried some elements of their designs consistent between them all, which stem from my base game Girlfriend design.

Unlike BF, there's a good bit more to talk about with GF since I draw her pretty different compared to her in-game design. The main thing is her more apparent demonic traits, like her horns, tail, and purple splotches. The explanation for this, in universe, is that she doesn't have the full power to cloak herself yet. See, her and her family are "music demons", which gain their power by leeching from music, usually a particular genre. GF hasn't really decided what genre to leech from yet, so she isn't as powerful as she could be. She also has a coat cuz uhhh. Silly. Things like her demonic traits and her coat (Or something of similar shape like a feather boa) would be the things to connect all the AU GFs.

Moving on, we have Herself, who I was looking forward to drawing the moment I started this line up cuz I had just. Such a clear vision of her in my head. Although it was a struggle to put that vision on paper.

It's hard to put the exact vision into words, but it's like having her form become less defined as it goes downwards, until it's just the wispy silhouette of her hair. There's a certain balance you have to strike with the wispy nature of her form and the trademark Girlfriend hair shapes, and that's what ended up being the biggest struggle. Once I figured that out though, it was pretty simple. Shapes were the most important thing since her coloring is pretty monochromatic. Not counting the black, this design only utilizes two different colors, both being shades of red. Her design includes a feather boa instead of a jacket, mainly cuz I completely forgot about that rule when I got to her and the boa was a lot easier to add than a jacket. It also makes an interesting shape I think.

Next is Funkadelix, and she really wasn't too hard. The main thing was giving her traits from my main GF design, which wasn't hard at all. For her horns I referenced her Halloween attire. Her tail too, sorta, but I mainly just referenced the thinness of it.

There isn't all too much to say about MDM. There wasn't a lot to change or add. Main addition was the boa, which was admittedly kinda fun to draw in my style for that AU.

Now onto Mix. If you saw my post yesterday about the doodle/sketch pile for this line up, you might've seen a design concept I did for Mommy Mearest, and that was literally just for Mix's design. Except it was virtually pointless cuz I didn't really include any aspects of my MMM into my Mix design. It's fine though, I think she turned out fine. Might take another pass at her in the future when I ACTUALLY have my MMM design figured out.

Lastly for this section, HD. I actually had quite a bit of fun drawing her. Don't really got much to say about her though. I'm pretty sure she was the first AU GF I gave a boa, so she's the one that started that. It was originally going to be all white, but my good good friend @minxtheeenby suggested it fading into black, and I really like how it turned out.

"Side" GFs

So first is Belladonn (B-Side). I know I wanted her to appear more sophisticated. That's just always how I imagined her, even back well the mod was still a simple recolor remix mod. There's also something so fun about classy characters that are also dangerous. We need more regal women that carry around bats full of nails. I had a lot of trouble nailing (pun not intended) her hair. The main thing that sets it apart from the traditional GF cut is her side bang (idk hair terms, I think that's what it is), but besides that, not much else. So I had to mess with it a bunch to get something I liked.

Amelia's (D-Side) design was pretty straight forward. The main thing was just adding a few more details to spice it up a bit. Which just happened to be buttons on her jacket and lil heart patterns on her knees. I also wanted her to be short. Cuz idk, she gives short vibes. A lil idea for her that isn't showcased here is that I imagine her pigtail buns actually turn into her horns when she is in her demon form. (Bad doodle, but just to show the concept:)

Lizzy (G-Side) was kinda fun to come up with ideas for. Most of her design is taken from the fake teasers for the mod, cuz silly. But because her mom is some sort of light spirit.. thing, I wanted to mix that in somehow too. So that's where the white highlights on her horns, hair, and tail come from, but that's not all it added.

She also has pretty funky eyes, that are somewhat inspired by Shara Ishvalda's eyes

Also, in that doodle, I imagine all of her hair is floating, I just. Didn't feel like drawing her pigtails cuz I mainly wanted to highlight the eye thing.

The New Yorkers

With Shaya, I mainly added a bit of stuff to her outfit, since the original is too simple with my design style. I basically just added a bat wing shape motif to her design. Cuz. Cuz vampire. This is also present in her ear shape cuz I didn't want them to JUST be pointed, cuz I wanted her to stand out a bit more from the demon girls. So different ear shape.

I don't really know how much Azalea (Neo) changed. I know I changed her hair a bit (to further differentiate her from GF) and I altered her top a bit but I THINK that's it. I did change her and her family's lore a bit though. Cuz I made them robots. THATS RIGHT, THIS IS WHO I WAS TALKING ABOUT WHEN I WAS TALKING ABOUT MAKING ONE OF THE GIRLFRIENDS A ROBOT. Azalea's pretty android-esc, but I imagine her parents are just full on robots. I can't wait to design them. But yeah, I imagine Azalea is much more human looking because she just wants to be part of human society and her parents love her so they got her the more human looking body so she could live out her dream. We love supportive parents *explosion emoji* *explosion emoji* *explosion emoji*

Not much to say about Grace. I just gave her a bit of melanin cuz apparently she's mixed. That's all I really changed tho.

I don't think I changed Judith MUCH. Her face is a bit more. Wolf-like? Idk. I also TOTALLY didn't reference Clawdeen Wolf's hair when designing her. Totally not.

Vikki (Minus) is grouped with the New Yorkers cuz. There's only one of her. Unlike the Minus BFs. I just made her a lil more goth, since people literally call her "Goth GF". Also made her hair a bit more blocky. cuz. cuz the minus symbol. Shape *sparkle emoji*

Who the Fuck Knows (Miscellaneous)

So starting with Cherry (Swappin'), in this AU she's actually GF's younger sister. She also already has a music genre to leech from (rap), so she's better at concealing herself. Not much else to say, I did not change her design much.

Nothing much to say about Barbara either, I barely changed her.

Now Astra (Starcatcher) was fun. While I was initially sketching her, I realized that both her alien species and the Alien Hominids have the same style of classic antennae. So I decided "Huh, what if their species are related." So I did that. Not much else to touch on besides that.

Tootsie belongs to @minxtheeenby and is part of their Sunday Night Snackin' AU. I drew her with her wings and tail out, which aren't usually out, but uh. Silly.

Belletrix didn't really change as much as I was expecting her too. The main thing was just. Making her an imp that could exist in the Hellaverse. Which was pretty easy. And then I just made shit up when it came to her outfit cuz it was kinda hard what was going on with that in the first place.

Next is Gabriella, YIPPEE. So she's the GF from Plants vs. Rappers. Vastly different appearance wise though, cuz, yknow. Can't have her look too similar to GF. And just like I did with Dennis, I decided to base her on another zombie from Neon Mixtape Tour: The Glitter Zombie

Idk, I thought it'd be cutie patootie. And it was. I really like how she turned out. I got lazy when it came to her flag, I did not feel like drawing that shit.

Last but not least is Ashley, the GF from my own AU. Which does not have a name. Idk, it's mainly just an excuse for me to draw anthro Monster Hunter monsters. But yeah, she's an intersex Leostra (Gender neutral term for the Teostra/Lunastra species that @sleepymushrxxm came up with) and I love her.

AC: With how many things the wizards make, there are bound to be mistakes, some sentient enough to run. Usually, the mechanical guards/drones deal with them, tho as the sky cloudy and hide the moonlight (hc that they're powered by moonlight magic), their power and function lessens. With this issue occurring, the wizards made a more organic group (I'll make the others soon, a hc of mine that I mentioned is included for one of them) to catch such runaways, including Aurora.

MW: With how large and busy the city it was, it was tiring and a waste of time to go run around the place to give another wizard a paper, definitely with how stressed you are already. This is the reason for Milky Way creation, able to run fast with those little quick legs of her with that child-like energy to deliver papers/give reports to the wizards from another, also giving her that laid-back and cheerful personality as a way to lower the stressful, packed minds of everyone.

I don't draw in the actual crk style a lot, so this was something to try to make it look canon-ish. It doesn't. It feels so weird to make lore for a damn NPC. It's like I'm stretching here, man. It's fine

Thank you for the question! 💕 I'm not sure where to start so I'll just put this in bullet points 😄 I hope this makes sense, I’m sure I missed some explanations but I tried to summarize it.

Before college, their sex life was obviously limited because they didn’t have that much privacy and Gale refused to take Bucky to his place. So it was a mix of very careful and quiet non-penetrative sex if they weren't alone in the house and excited experimentation whenever they had time alone, usually during school holidays.

Basically, they had some habits together but in their new circumstances, these habits change. That means another transition period, on top of everything else. This is not a bad thing at all, but there are so many changes they need to navigate that the stress accumulates.

An example: whereas previously, they always tried to be super quiet, they can be as loud as they want now because they rent a small one-bedroom flat together. Except, Gale finds himself unable to stop holding back. He’s anxious about making possibly embarrassing sounds, especially because he realizes that Bucky has stopped holding back and yet he still isn’t very loud.

Then, of course, all their other issues have a negative effect on their sex life.

Getting used to college can be exhausting, so it's also natural that in the first semester, they don’t want to have sex as often as in the next one.

In this AU, they're not the kind of couple who get hot for each other if they're fighting. Gale can hold a grudge for a long time, but even if he doesn’t, after a fight, he usually feels drained and sad, which rarely leads to any kind of opportunity for sex.

Plus, Gale is anxious that he’s not enough for Bucky because "Bucky could have anyone and why would he settle for his first, he probably thinks that's boring." This idea makes Gale tense, hence the sex feeling off.

Meanwhile, Bucky notices Gale's tension and distraction, but he thinks it's because Gale is falling out of love with him. We know that Bucky always dreaded this moment, the - in his mind - inevitable drifting apart once high school is over. This makes Bucky anxious too, which makes him clingy, and that's enough to make the sex feel off from his side too.

So there's a whole lot of external stress and a self-feeding cycle of undiscussed uncertainties. They all exacerbate each other.

In addition, their new friends don’t help either, because they all think this relationship won't survive anyway and both Bucky and Gale would benefit from a new partner.

Thankfully, we know that this isn’t what happens.

Yes, it’s a rough patch, yes, it’s stressful, but as soon as they finally align again and all their discordant pieces slot back into harmony, sex gets better again. And this is an instant thing actually. Instant, because their sex life was affected mostly by their disharmony and not other things that are slower to heal.

They have a huge fight in which everything comes out, and it's just what they needed because they finally acknowledge all their issues but also share the fact that they both still want the other. That’s all it takes to turn the negative spiral into the first steps of revovery.

They make up and reach a hopeful, positive and relieved state that night, and they have makeup sex.

It’s the first time that they both feel that it's not teenage experimentation anymore. It’s more serious and mature, and when they say I love you, it feels deeper than ever before.

From then on, they get the same relieved-happy-loved feeling from physical intimacy and, well, let’s just say they make up for all the sex they missed in their first semester.

It keeps getting better in the next months, and it's during this period in their lives that they develop that deep and steady intimacy that makes them act like a married couple long before they even tie the knot.
